The Ark Tourist Bungalow
Today I’m going to tell you about a very beautiful tourist bungalow situated in Mathugama, Sri Lanka. Its name is The Ark and situated in a very beautiful place in Mathugama where you can feel and experience the real nature during your stay there. This tourist bungalow is designed by a famous Sri Lankan architect, but unluckily, I don’t remember his name to mention here. From this small article, I expect to show you some pictures only. At the end of the article, you can see the prices of this bungalow and how to contact them for reservations.
The Ark is a small bungalow, so if you need to spend a holiday there, you probably have to reserve it earlier. According to The Ark’s staff, it has three double rooms with attached bathrooms and can only accommodate six people at once, but two additional people can also be accommodated on camp beds if required. At the present, its rates are not more than $150 per night during any time of the year. However, October to December, the price is cheaper than what I mentioned above. It’s better you call them first and get to know the prices when you are going to reserve the bungalow. Maybe in the future, The Ark will be able to accommodate more people than the present.
The Ark also has a minimum requirement for bungalow reservations. It is, you should reserve at least for two people for one night. If your requirement is anything less than that, you are unable to reserve this bungalow. You also have to pay the full payment at once to confirm the reservation in advance. However if you want to cancel your reservation because of any reason, you have to let them know two weeks prior to the date of arrival and the 50% will be refunded back to you.
Here are the directions for you to go to The Ark. It is very easy to find because it’s located not too far from Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. The Ark is situated approximately 64 kilometers to the south of Colombo and just about three hours drive from the Bandaranaike international airport. Distance from the airport is 90 kilometers and the distance from Colombo is about 60 kilometers which is nearly 2 hours drive. Following picture shows you the map to The Ark from Colombo.
Around this area, you can also go for mountain climbing, bird watching, exploring the rain forest and many more. Not only that, but you also have a great opportunity to eat country side fresh vegetables and fruits at The ark from their own plantations or from the neighboring villages. You should also remember that, The Ark does not serve alcohol for guests, but you are welcome to bring your own. There’s no extra corkage charge.
